Kansas City, (KS-MO) 10-27-2012

Took off on Saturday October 27th to join Mike in Kansas City. Changed planes in Atlanta and arrived mid afternoon in KC. Sunday was spent with one of Mike’s associates and his family for dinner and conversation then Monday through Wednesday I was on my own…

So with a gym at the Y and a pool I got my exercise and PT in and then headed out to find some of the fountains that Kansas City is famous for. Had about a dozen on my list but it wasn’t until I got home that I found there were hundreds… Next time I go I will go armed with the list of fountains and their addresses. Some of them are spectacular. Only Rome has more fountains than Kansas City. Will be back sometime in December.

Also found not only a fountain to music but the Sea Life Aquarium. It was small but fun to walk through and gave me a chance to get in some more exercise.

It was chilly, cloudy and windy most of the time I was there and the best weather was on the day we left. The sun would come out about 4pm for a couple of hours which ruled out places like the Gardens and Zoo.. Just too chilly for my liking. Mike and I headed home on Thursday November 1st so that we could celebrate our anniversary … More about that later. Mike and I headed home on Thursday November 1st so that we could celebrate our anniversary … Problem was we missed our flight in Atlanta by a few minutes … 30 minutes to change planes — and terminals no less — then back to the original terminal for another flight … and luggage that didn’t arrive in Charlotte until an hour after we did! So much for what I was going to get done Thursday afternoon and evening.
