November 20, 2021 Installation of Officers Carolina Court No. 10

On November 20th 2021 Honored Lady Linda Whitener and Sir Knight Ron Whitener were finally able to retire as Royal Matron and Royal Patron of Carolina Court No. 10 Order of the Amaranth. This time around they held those offices for two years due to Covid. The Shakespeare quote ‘uneasy is the head that wears a crown’ is from Henry IV Part 2. The phrase has become an English idiom meaning that those charged with major responsibility carry a heavy burden that makes it difficult for them to relax. Linda and Ron, you have earned some time to relax and enjoy. But don’t get too accustomed to it … we have 4 years ahead of us of fun times and extra effort. Without you we would not be making this next step.

As Linda and Ron stepped down Mike and I stepped up to fill some very experienced shoes but we know that the members of Carolina Court will work with us to make our term a success. I think we too will wear the crown for two years as those that follow us step into positions to advance up the line. Good Luck and best wishes to Janelle and Rob and Auretia and Steve.

Here are the pictures from Robert and River for the Uncrowning, Installation and Crowning. Mike and I are still learning as we go and will pass that knowledge along to the others behind us. We wish all the NC Amaranth Courts a successful year in 2022 with new members and great projects. We are starting off with a bang with Initiation, the Official Visit of the Grand Lecturer Linda Johnson and the Official Visit from our Grand Royal Matron Meredith Hart and Sir Knight Allen Spain. No time to stop and catch our breath.

Thank you to those who helped with the Installation from Linda’s uncrowning through to my crowning, you all slid so easily into parts you hadn’t planned on that most people didn’t notice a blip on their radar.

I was honored to be able to wear Honored Lady Carolyn Hirt’s train for my Installation. A Past Grand Matron from Carolina Court who fought the good fight with cancer and finally went to her rest. You were remembered on the 20th and were with us in our hearts. To Linda and Ron we were honored by your Book of Gold presentation. I hope this becomes a tradition for Carolina Court.
